A Bit About Me

Seth Sangalang is a current second-year graduate student in the master’s program at California
State University, Northridge (CSUN) in clinical research in psychology. His passion for neuropsychology
has led him to develop research projects that have focused on examining how cultural
experiences—particularly acculturation—affect the neuropsychological test performance of aging adults.
Specifically, he has undertaken empirically assessing adapted measures of acculturation for
Hispanic/Latino adults and establishing normative data for Hispanic/Latino young adults. Using structural
equation modeling techniques, Seth aims to provide other researchers with consistent approaches to
measure the effect of lived experiences on cognitive health, across the lifespan. In addition, Seth has
hands-on experience administering and scoring neuropsychological assessments in both English and
Spanish, as well as collaborating with community-based Alzheimer’s disease research studies, both at
CSUN and UC San Diego. He is passionate about learning from his colleagues, teaching, spending time
with friends and family, reading, and calisthenics to clear the mind!
