Teaching of Psychology
Course Description: This course provides training in the theories, skills, and practices required to serve as an instructional aide in psychology courses. Topics include course preparation, strategies for fostering student learning and improving writing, assessment methods, classroom technology, diversity and sensitivity toward special populations, and ethical and legal issues in education. Emphasis is placed on applying educational research to effective teaching. Students attend seminars and assist a faculty member in the Department of Psychology.

Fieldwork in Psychological Services
Mood and Anxiety Clinic
Course Description: Provides an academic, university-based experience designed to accompany students’ supervised practicum, fieldwork, or internship within applied clinical settings. A primary practicum site for this course is the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Clinic at Monterey Hall, which offers psychotherapeutic treatment to adults in the community experiencing specific forms of anxiety and depression, including specific phobias, panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, major depression, and dysthymia.
