

A Bit About Me
David Cook is a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology graduate with an emphasis on fieldwork and is currently pursuing Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. He has extensive experience in human services, working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), including those with profound and complex needs, in community crisis homes, adult residential facilities for persons with special health care needs, and specialized residential homes. He currently oversees a community crisis home for dual- diagnosed residents and serves on an interdisciplinary team alongside other mental health professionals. He is a registered behavior technician (RBT) and holds certification as a Person- Centered Trainer.
During graduate school at CSUN, David served as the instructor of record for an Introduction to Psychology course in the TIPS program and gained clinical experience in both the Mood and Anxiety Clinic and the Psychological Assessments Clinic. His training included interpreting behavioral and psychological assessments, as well as applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles in clinical practice. David’s research and clinical interests focus on integrating evidence-based interventions with a humanistic, client-centered approach to support underrepresented and underserved populations. His long-term goal is to pursue a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, using applied clinical research and behavioral strategies to improve mental health, adaptive functioning, and quality of life for individuals with complex needs.
